Captain Golden Years Credits

The cinematic credits to my short film, "Captain Golden Years." In the film, the main character, Raymond, struggles to see that he's grown old, and that his daughter isn't a little girl anymore. Throughout the film, there is this drawing that hangs on the refrigerator, drawn by his daughter when she was a toddler, that depicts Raymond as a superhero. These credits bring that drawing to life, and essentially retell the story through children's drawings.

Characters were rigged and animated in After Effects using the Duik Bassel plugin.

Each body part of the fire monster is it's own composition, which cycles through a frame by frame loop to create the scribble-fire effect.

The shot of Raymond flying above the trees was created by compositing his 2D animation on top of a render of this 3D scene. The trees are textured onto planes that are in a cloner in Cinema 4D, which creates this forest.
